Summary A list of magical spells and their effects, cost and uses. Note that this list does not list all possible spells. However it does also include player commentary not found in the LegendMud help files, and it can also be updated by other players.

ANIMATE DEAD

Mana cost : 76 to 150 depending on level of mob you're attempting to raise

Targets : Corpses

This spell creates an undead zombie or skeleton from the corpse and charms it to the caster.

Note Hitpoints are random and the original creature's level is halved.

AREASIGHT

MANA COST : 15

Targets : Caster's room

Gives a detailed report of the room in which cast, including the name of the room, the move cost of the room, the qualities specific to the room, and any items in the room.

ARMOR SPELL

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Anyone

Armor causes the space around the victim to form a barrier that blows will

have a harder time connecting through.

AURA SIGHT

Mana cost : 10

Targets : Anyone

Allows caster to detect magical auras of protection on characters and auras of alignment on characters and objects for a duration based upon cast level.

Auras

  • pale red: non-good equipment
  • chromatic: non-neutral equipment
  • pale blue: non-evil equipment
  • blood red: very evil person
  • red: evil person
  • grey: neutral person
  • blue: good person
  • azure: very good person
  • black: magic sink on person

BARKSKIN

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Caster or group members

Reduces target's AC by 20 and gives a resistance to blast attacks but has a susceptibility to chop attacks.

You will take 33% less damage from BLAST type attacks.

You will take 50% more damage from CHOP type attacks.

BEAM OF PAIN

Mana cost : 4+

Targets : Others

Sends a tight beam of pain shooting into the victim's mind.

BINDING

Mana cost : 30

Targets : Others

Prevents the victim from leaving the room but not from taking other actions.

There is a chance of the spell backlashing on the caster.

The victim has a chance to break the bind based on their strength.

BLINDED

Being blinded is a direct affect of the blindness spell. There are also other special cases where you can be blinded and experience the same effects. When you have been blinded it will show up in your status display.

'And finally, blind.. it's probably the most devastating deprep. Blind spell is +20ac and -9hitroll. It also removes your target's ability to see. Unless the target has abilities to attack while blind, the target cannot initiate combat.'

BLINDING FLASH

Mana cost : 30

Targets : Caster's room

Creates a blinding flash of light in the room affecting everyone not already blinded or failing their save against spells.

BRAINPOWER

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Causes an increase to the target's mind by 10 for a duration based on cast level.

Note A character may only have one stat spell on them at a time. For instance, if you have the strength spell cast on you, the other spells will not take hold.

CALM

Syntax calm
Syntax calm <person>

A bardic skill which allows you to relieve tensions in the room. It can be either an area affect or directed affect. Fighting people will stop fighting. Raging people will not stop fighting, but they will stop raging. Note that calming a single target, unless it is your opponent, will simply result in the target's opponent initiating the fight again. Requires the play skill as a prerequisite.

CAMOUFLAGE

Mana cost : 35

Targets : Caster's room

Hides all life in room. Each will remain hidden until they hit return, just like with the hide skill.

CAUSE LIGHT WOUNDS

Mana cost : 2+

Targets : Others

Causes small wounds and tears in the target. Damage is based on caster's mind and mana cost is dependent on damage done. Casting will initiate combat.

CHAIN LIGHTNING

Mana cost : 12+

Targets : Caster's room

Causes lightning to be pulled from the sky and targeted at people in the same room as the caster. This spell only works in electrical storms. Its power depends in part on the severity of the storm.

CLUMSINESS

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Others

Decreases victim's dexterity by 10% for a duration based on cast level.

CONTAGIOUS COUGH

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Caster's room

Caster creates the illusion of coughing loudly and hacking harshly. Results in spreading the plague to anyone present not in the caster's group.

CONTROL WEATHER

Mana cost : 100+

Targets : Caster's area

Syntax chant <words> ex <condition> <severity>

Condition must be one of: clear, clouds, rain, storms, snow, uncertain. Severity must be one of: light, medium, heavy, extreme.

Allows the caster to change the weather conditions around the caster. This spell requires precise concentration on the caster's part. If the words are

not chanted correctly, the spell will fail.

Weather may not be controlled beyond its natural limitations: it is unlikely, for example, that even the most powerful mages could make it snow in the

middle of a desert.

Further, controlling weather is not a task for any but the most powerful of mages. Even then, a mage's Power may be sapped if he or she attempts to overreach his or her bounds. The more extreme the weather change, the more mana it will take.

CREATE HEALING

MANA COST : 25

To apply the balm to yourself: use balm self

To apply the balm to someone else: use balm <person>

Creates a healing balm that increases the healing rate of whoever it is applied to. The balm must be used immediately after it is created or it will go bad and you cannot apply more than one at a time.

CURE BURNS

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Anyone

Heals any burns suffered by the victim.

CURE CRITICAL

Mana cost : 50+

Targets : Anyone

Heals the target a moderate amount based on mind and cast level of the caster. Cannot be cast in combat. If you have less than 50 mana available to you, the full amount will be used to heal the target.

CURE PLAGUE

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Cures any unsightly plague the target may have in their system.

CURSE

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Others and Items

Decreases your victim's luck, somewhat reducing any bonus to hit they might have. It also makes items stick with their bearer.

'Curse is -5hitroll,It is very useful. I use it in any situation where is works. Undead creatures, however, are immune to curse, blind and poison.'

DAGGER OF ICE

Mana cost : 45

Creates : Illusory dagger

When cast, a dagger of ice is created that can be used as a weapon by the caster.

You look closely at a dagger of ice, trying to get the sense of it as a weapon. You heft a dagger of ice and give it a few experimental swings. This piercing weapon feels like it weighs around 5kg. A dagger of ice probably does at most 8 points of damage. This is a weapon of extremely high quality.

Dagger casts Frost Bolt spell when wielded in battle.

DANCING SWORD

Mana cost : 75

Targets : Weapons

Causes a weapon to obey your commands as it floats along beside you for a duration based on cast level. When the weapon runs out of hitpoints, it is totally destroyed.

DETECT POISON

Mana cost : 10

Targets : Anyone and Items

Allows you to detect a hint of foulness about items and victims if they are poisoned OR have a poisonous attack. If no poison is present or spell failure cast, you will detect nothing unusual.

DISPEL ILLUSION

Mana cost : 35

Targets : Room

Can dispel multiple illusory mobiles, items or effects in the room where chanted. This includes any illusory items held by yourself or others.

DISPEL MAGIC

Mana cost : 45

Targets : Self, Victim or Objects

Removes most magical affects from the character it is cast upon and removes invisibility from objects it is cast upon.

DOPPELGANGER

Mana cost : 70

Creates : Illusory doppelganger

Creates a doppelganger, an illusory clone of the caster. The charmed mob will look exactly like the player at the time the spell is chanted, so you can use the NAME command to set your description how you want before casting.

This mob causes no damage to victims detecting illusions. The doppelganger is charmed to the caster and will obey his commands implicitly. Note that the

doppelganger will intercept anything intended for you if your full name is used as the keyword, including tells, blows, and given items and sometimes acts.

DREAM SENDING

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Players

Caster sends a dream off through the astral plane seeking the sleeping mind of the intended victim.

DROWN

Mana cost : 8+

Targets : Others

Offensive spell that causes damage to the victim if in a room with sufficient water.

EMPATHY

Mana cost : 70

Targets : Others

Caster attempts to take on the pain and suffering of the target. Caster must be of good align to successfully cast the spell. Overextension of your own

resources is not advised. Also you may only cast this spell upon people you could normally fight and within 5 levels of you.

ENTRANCE

Syntax entrance
Syntax entrance <victim>
Syntax entrance <victim> <instrument>

Entrancing will cause the victim to start dancing madly. They will remain entranced until the next tick, and during that time may not perform many commands, though they may be broken out of the trance by waking, being headbutted, bashed, being put to sleep, forced to rest, or killed. Dancing people may flee and defend themselves, but not use any "active" skills while

in combat. (Some automatic ones will still work.)

If you're currently in combat and you ENTRANCE with no argument, it will act on your current opponent.

If you have multiple playable instruments, you can specify which one you wish to entrance with. If you don't, the first one found will be used.

EPHEMERA

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Caster's room

Causes the effect of an illusion to be seen by the occupants of the room. The effect is ephemeral, lasting only an instant. The illusion will be of the

description placed after the word ex when chanted.

The use of illusions to harass other players or to fake immortal actions (such as chats, tells, announces, etc.) is prohibited. See HELP RULES or ask an Admin immortal for more details.

EPIPHANY

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Causes an increase to the target's spirit by 10 for a duration based on cast level.

Note A character may only have one stat spell on them at a time. For instance, if you have the strength spell cast on you, the other spells will not take hold.

ETHERIC ARCHER

Mana cost: 100

Creates an etheric archer

This spell, cast during combat, creates an archer from the surrounding ether. The archer lasts for the duration of combat and disappears once combat

is broken, or the target is dead. The archer will use a bow to fight the victim that the master is already in combat with. The caster is unable to order the archer.

EVAPORATE

Mana cost : 10

Targets : Caster's room

Evaporates water from the air around the caster.

EVIL THOUGHTS

Mana cost : 4+

Targets : Others

This offensive spell twists your evil thoughts into pain and suffering for your target. It may only be cast if you are evil and may provide a bonus if your opponent is good.

FADE PERSON

Mana cost : 35

Targets : Others

An invisibility spell that can only be cast on others, not the caster.

FAMILIAR

Syntax chant spell words ex <familiar type>
Cost 200 mana

Summons an otherworldly being to assist you. The mere presence of an imp will help reduce losing concentration on spells as well as provide unique prep spells to the summoner. Though terrible at following orders, a caster who wishes to banish the familiar may give it the order to 'leave', or dismiss the familiar. Such summoned beings are bound to the caster for a very long time, even persisting after the caster has rented.

Types of familiars include Owl, Cat, Crow, Wolf and Imp. If you don't specify which you wish to summon, the Imp will arrive by default.

  • Imps, in particular, are prone to boredom. It is wise to keep an imp at least somewhat entertained where scenery is concerned, lest they decide to start annoying the people around them.
  • Owl grants bonus to MIN (3), SPI (3), +2 hit and mana regen, and "Invulnerability" (5% avoidance of hit and slash)
  • Wolf grants bonus "Health of the Wolf" (3 CON), "Reflexes of the Wolf" (3 DEX, 2 Hit, 3 Damage), "Protection of the Wolf" (+9 AC), and "Invulnerability" (5% avoidance of crush and slash)
  • Cat grants bonus to "Cat Vision" (PER 3), "Cat Reflexes" (DEX 3), Hitroll (4), "Invulnerability" and "Soul of the Cat" (2 mana regeneration).
  • Crow grants bonus to PER (3), "Rectification" (2 HP and mana regen), and "Protection of the Crow" (+8 AC, 5% less damage from hit and slash)

FEAR

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Others

Causes the victim to quake with fear of you and possibly flee. Note: if the victim fails to flee, they may become angry.

FEIGN DEATH

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Caster

You will be able to fake your death, and others in the room unless they have a high enough perception score will see your corpse lying there. The effect ends as soon as you move same as with hide.

Note This spell is not implemented.

FIRESTORM

Mana cost : 2+

Targets : Others and Caster's room

Causes a firestorm to rain down that is centered upon your target, but does damage to everyone in the room that is based on the caster's mind stat.

FLASH OF VISION

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Caster's room

Causes a bright, but not blinding flash of light in the room and allows everyone a glimpse of the room.

FLY SPELL

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Causes the target to levitate and be able to fly around in the air.

FOUL WATER

Mana cost : 30

Targets : Water source

Requires : Fouling herb

Syntax chant <words> ex <target keyword> <herb>

You must have a non-good align to use this, and must have an appropriate herb in your inventory. If successful you will add the herb to the food, drink, or fountain, thus inflicting its properties on the target.

GUST OF WIND

Mana cost : 8+

Targets : Others

Creates a gust of wind that buffets the victim, doing damage based on caster's mind. Can only be used outdoors.

'Gust of wind: vina gam vayu, You can type the 'weather' command to see if you are outside. Gust of wind also does 25dmg in addition to setting the target to sitting.'

HARM

Mana cost : 4+

Targets : Others

A mid level damage spell that does more than cause light wounds, but less than other offensive spells. Damage amount is based on cast level.

HEALTH

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Causes an increase to the target's constitution by 10 for a duration based on cast level.

Note A character may only have one stat spell on them at a time. For instance, if you have the strength spell cast on you, the other spells will not take hold.

IDENTIFY OBJECT

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Items

Very detailed identify spell for objects. The size of the item is described

in terms of how you might be able to hold the object, whether the item is

used by being held, or not.

IDENTIFY PERSON

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Others

Gives a more detailed report of a person's vital statistics than they might want you to know.

ILLUSION

Mana cost : 40

Creates : Room illusion

Syntax : chant <words> ex <illusion description>

Creates an illusion that remains in the room until the timer runs out, DISPEL ILLUSION spell is cast in the same room, the mud crashes, or an immortal removes it. The illusion will be of the description placed after the word ex when chanted.

The use of illusions to harass other players or to fake immortal actions (such as chats, tells, announces, etc.) is prohibited. See HELP RULES or ask an Admin immortal for more details.

IMMOLATION

Mana cost : 16+

Targets : Others

Causes damage to the victim as it envelops them in white-hot flame. Damage is based on the caster's mind.

LAVA FLOW

Mana cost : 12+

Targets : Others

Causes a lava flow to damage your victim. Damage done is based on caster's mind.Can be cast only in non-water outdoor rooms.

LIGHTNING BOLT

Mana cost : 12+

Targets : Others

Calls down a bolt of lightning from the skies to strike your target. Cannot be cast where you cannot see the sky. (May eventually require bad weather for

success.)

LIMN

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Others

Outlines the victim with a pale light giving a +3 to hit against the victim.

'Limn gives +3 hitroll to all attackers of the target that is limned. It is more a group spell than a solo spell. But if you have spare mana, limn. if not, skip it.'

LOCATE PERSON

Mana cost : 40

Targets : Others

Gives the room title of where the player or mob you are trying to find is located.

MAGICAL HOURGLASS

Mana cost : 25

Usage : chant <spell> ex <timer in hours>

Creates : Hourglass

Timer * 2 is the length of the hourglass in ticks.

The spell will give messages at ticks and when the hourglass disappears.

Note This is more of an internal spell than anything else.

MAGIC SINK

Mana cost : 35

Targets : Anyone

For a duration based on cast level, allows the caster to absorb the mana cast at him and add it to his own. The strength of the magic sink is based on thecaster's mind.

MAJOR ILLUSION

Mana cost : 70

Targets : none or non-corpse objects

Syntax : chant <words> ex <illusion description>

Syntax : chant <words> ex <item> <illusion description>

Allows the caster to change the appearance of existing objects when lying about for an illusion that can be moved. An object is not required, but the resultant illusion will not be movable. It is susceptible to dispel illusion but is not as fragile as the regular illusion spell. The illusion will be of the description placed after the word ex when chanted.

Builders may designate that certain items cannot be changed with this spell.

If an object is not specified, an illusion is created.

The use of illusions to harass other players or to fake immortal actions (such as chats, tells, announces, etc.) is prohibited. See HELP RULES or ask an Admin immortal for more details.

MALAISE

Mana Cost: 4

Target Others

Increases the body of the victim's natural decay.

MANA CHARGE

Mana Charge

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Objects

Mana charge will allow the caster to recharge a mana battery which can then be used by themselves or others at a later point. Mana batteries should be considered a risky item to carry though, since charged batteries have been known to explode. Mana batteries also have a chance to bleed off some of the power within them, until they once again are devoid of energy.

MESMERIZE

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Others

Allows you to gain power over the target's mind for one command. Failure will result in the victim attacking.

Note This skill is not implemented.

NIMBLENESS

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Causes an increase to the target's dexterity by 10 for a duration based on cast level.

Note A character may only have one stat spell on them at a time. For instance, if you have the strength spell cast on you, the other spells will not take hold.

NOISE

Mana cost : 30+

Targets : Others and Caster's room

This spell causes a great loudness to deafen your opponent. However, it also affects others in the area.

PERSPICUITY

Cost 50 mana

Applies an increased mana regeneration for a duration based upon the caster's mind.

PLAGUE

Mana cost : 10

Targets : Others

Causes the victim to suffer from the plague.

PRESERVE

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Items

Extends the duration of an object based on cast level beyond when it would otherwise decay.

PROTECT VS POISON

Mana cost : 30

Targets : Anyone

Increases the victim's immunity to poisons.

PROTECTION FROM FIRE

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Anyone

Builds a resistance to flame attacks for a duration based on cast level.

QUICKEYE

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Causes an increase to the target's perception by 10 for a duration based on cast level.

Note A character may only have one stat spell on them at a time. For instance, if you have the strength spell cast on you, the other spells will not take hold.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Mana cost : 40

Targets : Climbing direction

Creates a bridge in the direction specified allowing the caster to climb along the bridge to the next room.

RECALL SPELL

Mana cost : 50

Returns you to your current homeroom. The risk of failure increases the further one is from a magical environment.

REFRESH

Mana cost : 10

Targets : Anyone

Refreshes the target's movement by an amount based on cast level.

REFRESHMENT

Cost 40

Applies an amount of movement regeneration for a duration based on caster's mind. This spell can be cast on others as well.

REGENERATION

Regeneration can be thought of as a form of healing. You will regenerate while you are in a non-combat position and have no harmful affects or spells on you such as bleeding or poison.

You can also gain regeneration bonuses through spells and equipment. Though this equipment is generally not easy to acquire.

Some items and spells can grant periodic regenerative abilities. If you have positive regeneration in either hit points, mana or movement, they will be periodically increased by the amount of regeneration you have (as seen in the attributes command).

There is a limit on the regeneration bonuses gotten through equipment. Under the ATTRIBUTES command, you can get no more than 13 regeneration points for either mana, movement or hp. With spells, the limit is 17. And lastly, with INNATE REGENERATION, the maximum would be 20.

The configuration showregen will display a message every time you are affected by a regenerative ability.

REJUVENATION

Cost 50 mana

Applies an increased amount of movement regeneration for a duration based upon the mind of the caster.

REMOVE CURSE

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Anyone and Items

Removes a curse from someone and restores their luck. It also allows items to be freely transferred once their curse is lifted.

NOTE There is a chance that attempting to remove a curse on an item will ruin the item.

REPORT SPELL

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Others

Forces victim to give a full report, using standard report, going only to the caster.

RESIST POISON

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Increases ability to save vs poison for a duration based on cast level.

Note This spell is not implemented.

RESURRECT

Mana cost : 300-500

Targets : Corpses

Resurrection is a spell by which you can cause a group member's corpses, anywhere in the mud to re-appear at the location of the caster. Only corpses with items in them will qualify to be summoned. Empty corpses will not move.

The caster and the person being resurrected must be in the same room and in the same group.

Casters CANNOT resurrect themselves. It must always be cast by another caster.

Resurrection can be cast anywhere, but there are increased penalties for casting it anywhere other than an inn or the caster's house, or the friend-of-the-caster's house as it is more taxing on the mage in casting said spell.

If successful, it will pull all qualifying corpses to the caster. The person on whom the resurrection spell is cast will suffer a severe 5-tick penalty to their stats.

Resurrections require the party being resurrected to be holding in inventory a pulsing blue crystal.

PLEASE NOTE: These crystals are currently available from Douban only and can only be acquired by asking him 'crystal'. They are a special order item so they

are not stocked in his inventory. Be warned that these crystals are expensive (especially for higher level people) and they are tied to your level:

Level 1 to 25: 100 coins.

Level 26 to 35: 1,000 coins.

Level 36 to 45: 5,000 coins.

Level 46 to 49: 10,000 coins.

Level 50: 15,000 coins.

If you advance past your crystal's level, it will no longer work for you. Higher level crystals will, however, work for lower level characters. Please

note that the crystals, though charged in ranges, are tied to your level. A level 1 and a level 25 crystal cost the same amount, but a level 1 crystal will not work for a level 25 character. IMPORTANT: the person being resurrected, NOT the caster, must hold the proper level stone.

Resurrection is currently the only means by which you can recover corpses from a DT -- make a few mage friends. A successful cast can range between 300 and 500 mana, so you may want to figure out what their favorite drinks are ahead of time.

REVIVIFICATION

Cost 50 mana

Applies an amount of increased hp regeneration for a duration based on the caster's mind.

RING OF FIRE

Mana cost : 45

Targets : Caster only

Causes a ring of fire to surround the caster. The ring of fire may inflict damage to the caster's opponents for each round of melee combat. Stepping through the ring (by using a directional command) inflicts damage on the caster and 'dispels' the ring of fire. Lasts for a duration based on cast level. Dispel magic destroys it.

ROCKFORM

Mana cost : 50

Targets : Caster

Caster hides in the room by projecting the image of a rock. Spell is broken when caster hits return like the hide skill.

Note This spell is not implemented.

SCATTER

Mana cost : 50

Targets : Room

Everyone in room is forced to flee except the caster. Notice that the flee may fail for the individual victims as in a normal flee and they will probably not be too happy about it.

SENSE LIFE

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Caster's room

Allows caster to determine if there are any lifeforms hidden from his sight in the room.

SLEEP SPELL

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Others

Puts the victim to sleep as long as they are not fighting. Has a chance of upsetting the target victim on failure.

'General rule,' O----n says with zany delight. 'You will always do more damage to the target when it is sitting.'

'To the same effect, you will always take more damage if you are not standing in a fight,' O-----n says with a silly giggle.

O-----n says, extremely giddy and goofy, 'If the target is sleeping, you get 1 free attack round.'

SLOTH

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Others

Causes a great weariness to come upon the victim, making them rest.

O----n says, extremely giddy and goofy, 'If the target is resting, the target will stand up after the first round (means it can't use skills until after it stands up)'

SNEAK

Syntax sneak

Once you begin to sneak, you won't trigger entry acts, or be immediately attacked by aggressive mobs in the room. People won't be able to see you entering, unless their perception is very high. Sneaking may be toggled by typing sneak again.

STAFF OF LIGHT

Mana cost : 30

Creates : Illusory staff

Creates an illusory staff made of light that can be used as a weapon. If the person being attacked has detect illusion, the item does no damage.

This is a weapon of high quality.

STONESKIN STONE SKIN

Mana cost : 100

Targets : Caster only

Causes the skin of the target to become as hard as stone. Makes the caster's skin resistant to piercing and difficult to heal.

You will take 50% less damage from PIERCE type attacks.

You will take 50% less damage from STAB type attacks.

You will take 50% less damage from STING type attacks.

You will take 50% less damage from BITE type attacks.

STRENGTH SPELL

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Anyone

Causes an increase to the target's strength by 10 for a duration based on cast level.

Note A character may only have one stat spell on them at a time. For instance, if you have the strength spell cast on you, the other spells will not take hold.

STUN

Mana cost : 20

Targets : Others

Causes the victim to be stunned, dazed, and generally incapacitated, but it also has a chance of backfiring on the caster. Stun carries the chance to generate a 'sticking stun' or 'worse for wear (wfw)' stun. This is a stun which persists for a longer duration, giving you the opportunity to do more damage.

SUSTAINED BREATH

Invisibility spell that renders the caster invisible for a duration based on cast level.

VIGOR

Mana cost : 15

Targets : Anyone

Causes an increase to victim's max movement for a period based on cast level.

VILE GREEN GOO

Mana cost : 20

Creates : Green goo

Requires : Glass vial

Creates a gob of vile green goo that can be thrown at an opponent.

WALL OF FOG

Mana cost : 60

Creates : Illusory wall

Creates an illusory wall of fog, hiding the exits in the room. Those with detect illusion will be able to see through it. Attempting to exit (whether there is an exit in that dir or not) from the room will cause exiting in a random direction (which may result in choosing a dir with no exit, and hence no movement). Duration of the wall is based on caster's level. Cannot be cast underwater or indoors.

WALL OF THORNS

Mana cost : 70

Targets : Caster only

Creates a wall of thorns around the caster that causes damage when the caster is attacked, and gives -5 ac. The wall causes damage if the caster attempts to move to a new location. This spell can only be used outdoors.

WALL OF WINDS

Mana cost : 60

Creates : Illusory wall

Creates an illusory wall of winds around the caster that can be seen through with detect illusion. Anyone attacking the caster may find themselves turned around into attacking a random other person from the room. Duration is based on caster's level, but fleeing or moving to another room destroys the spell. This spell cannot be cast underwater.

WATER WALK

Targets : Anyone

Allows the caster to walk upon water for a duration based on cast level.

WAVE OF NAUSEA

Mana cost : 8+

Targets : Caster's room

An offensive spell that adversely affects those not in the caster's group. Mana cost is based on the damage inflicted to the entire room.

WEAKEN

Mana cost : 25

Targets : Others

Causes a decrease in the victim's strength by 10% for a duration based on cast level.

WEAKEN ARMOR

Mana cost : 35

Targets : Others

Weakens the effective armor class of the target for a period of time.

'Weaken protection is +20ac,' O----n says with zany delight. 'If the npc is wearing a lot of equipment, cast weaken protection.'

WHIRLPOOL

Mana cost : 12+

Targets : Others and Caster's room

Creates a whirlpool with a vortex centered under the target, but does damage to everyone in the room. Cannot be cast in rooms without water.

WITHER

Mana cost : 6

Targets : Others

Offensive spell that saps the strength and wellness from the victim. You can cast it on yourself, too, but it would be bad for your health.

YOUTH

Mana cost : 10

Targets : Anyone

Sets victim's age down by 10. Age cannot go below 17.
