Strength determines how much weight you can carry, how heavy a weapon you can wield, and how hard you hit. Greater strength allows you better control over slashing and slicing-type weapons like pikes and swords, and it affects the number of attacks you will be able to make in a round of combat with that type of weapon. A character with strength as his or her most important attribute will likely be a fighter type, but is not necessarily limited to that occupation.
Relationship Between Strength and Damage:
'3 STR = 1 damage roll.'
Strength Needed to Wield Weapon:
'take weight and multiply by 4 for one-handed weapon and 4 for two-handed weapon'
Has this changed recently? It used to be a multiple of 4 for a one-handed weapon and by 5 for two-handed weapons.
Does anyone know the relationship between Strength and weight carried?
After looking at different characters with significantly different strength, it seems that a player can carry as much weight in kilograms as their strength statistic (STR) plus 40. So someone with a STR of 25 can carry 65 kilograms while a person with a STR of 88 can carry 128 kilograms.
